BASIC STUDENTS (1st Course)

You will be required to complete & upload the following documents in your application:

 

INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS (2nd Course)

You will be required to complete & upload the following documents in your application:

 

PRE-SOLO STUDENTS & ABOVE (3rd Course +)

  • Students at this level are expected to be responsible for maintaining their own GFA membership. If your membership is due to expire, you must renew it prior to attending your course. You must bring proof of currency on course or you will be unable to commence flying activities.
  • Students on their 3rd course or more are expected to hold an Authority Recognised Aviation Medical. You must hold and bring a copy of this document on course in order to fly as a pilot in command (solo). Failure to bring this documentation on course will result in delay of flight progression.
  • FOR INFORMATION ON OBTAINING AN AVIATION MEDICALS, REFER TO THE AVIATION MEDICALS TAB.

 

COURSE COSTS

  • A basic fee of $180.00 will apply to all students, covering flying & administration fees.
  • Other course costs are dependent on training stage. Refer to the attached document for more information (Gliding Course Costs).

 

STEPS

  • Download and fill in any documentation relevant to your training stage.
  • Complete online application form.
  • Apply for the activity on CadetOne:
    • Nominate for the gliding course on CadetOne immediately after having submitted your application
    • Your Squadron CO will need to endorse your nomination
    • Any medical conditions or dietary requirements must be up-to-date on CadetOne
  • Success: If your application is successful you will be notified via acceptance on CadetOne. You will be emailed an invoice with details to make a bank transfer (unless you are on an AFS). You will have 7 days to make payment once the invoice is received. Those on SQN Scholarships are responsible for coordinating with their home unit to arrange payment.
  • Joining Instructions & Travel Orders will be emailed to you by 3WG Headquarters.
  • Remember to bring your TR66 and any relevant Medical or GFA documentation to course.
  • BASICS: Basic students should study the Pre-Course Learning Package (Pre-Course Learning Package). You will be tested during your first day on course.
