The Chief of Air Force has provided funding for members of the AAFC to apply for a number of flying scholarships (AFS) in the 19/20 Financial Year (FY). These scholarships are designed to allow cadets and qualified Instructors of Cadets (IOCs) and Officers of Cadets (OOCs) to participate in aviation activities in either the gliding or powered flying discipline.
The AFS financing system is separated into tiers. Tier 1 scholarships are allocated via this application. Granting of Tier 2 and 3 scholarships will be based with the recommendation from their respective flying training staff and is not applied for via this application.
Headquarters, 3 Wing (HQ3WG), supported by 903 Aviation Training Squadron (903ATS) invites all cadets, IOCs and OOCs to apply for an AFS. Applications will be open to those eligible in accordance with the criteria outlined in this document and will be assessed on a priority basis as determined by HQ3WG.
